Hypnosis is a natural
and altered state of consciousness in which a heightened state
of awareness and responsiveness is experienced. A good example
of a light state of hypnosis is when youre driving in
your vehicle to a particular destination and your mind is
drifting from one thought to another. Then, all of a sudden,
youve arrived at your destination and dont remember
all of the details in getting there!
Part
of your mind was doing one thing and another part of your
mind was doing something else. What has happened, in this
case scenario, is your conscious mind might have been distracted
from driving with thought about a project at work, so your
subconscious mind went into a heightened state of awareness,
thus allowing you to drive easily and effortlessly without
having to concentrate when your conscious mind is doing one
thing and your subconscious is doing another.
Eighty
percent (80%) of what a person does, everyday, is subconscious.
This means there are things we think or do automatically,
without giving a "thought" to it. Some of these
thoughts and actions are positive while others may be negative.
In hypnotherapy, the hypnotherapist can help a client to reprogram
these negative thoughts, which lead to negative feelings and
actions. Through hypnosis, these thoughts are replaced with
positive thoughts. Positive thoughts lead to positive feeling
and actions. |
